The 3 Best First Date Conversation Starters
So, have you ever sat across from someone on a first date while sharing awkward silence? We all have. But don’t let this ever happen to you again!
Regardless of whether or not your first date leads to everlasting love with your soul mate or nothing, you can significantly increase your chances of having a great time and a date number two. The trick is to have a few interesting conversation starters up your sleeve which can help you get to know each other and enjoy your time together.
Here are 3 of my favs:
What did you do today and how was it?
After you share a quick kiss on the cheek and let them know it is great to see them, asking about their day is a great way to start the conversation flowing. It is an easy question to answer and enables you to find out what they do for fun and what you have in common.
What is your favorite book or movie? Where would you love go on vacation?
These types of questions enable you both to learn about your shared interests. If you find a topic that you’re both excited about and spend your time together discussing it you’ll probably have a pretty exciting date.
What are your friends like?
People often choose friends who they have a lot in common with so by asking your date to describe their friends you can often learn a lot about them. Also, people usually enjoy talking about their favorite people so this question can easily lead to other interesting conversations.
So those are my 3 favorite conversation starters, what are your surefire winners to get the conversation rolling? Please let me know in the comment section below.
* Oh and I can’t complete this article without mentioning that on a first date you each should talk about 50% of the time. If you find yourself talking more than that you need to show more interest in your date and ask them more questions.*Article by Tracey Steinberg, learn more here
